This book outlines a well structured and balanced view of organisational competences with a neat analogy to the human system’s brain and brawn. The pithy connection to both digital (brain) and physical (brawn) is perhaps a bit of a stretch but gets the juices flowing for sure.
As a flavour of modernised balanced scorecard, this is pretty good… at least as a checklist; I am not sure how useful the framework will be to guide strategy development as it is descriptive and all encompassing rather than directional, but still very worthwhile and something I will be playing with for sure!
Where this book comes to life for me is in the vivid case studies and juxtaposition of different organisations against each of the 10 dimensions defined (5 brain/5 brawn).
